After you go through you intro and have received actionable steps to move towards your goals, it’s time to dive full in 100%, right?! Not so fast. When your goals include exercise, you need to know what your body can and can’t do. Some people can squat super low, others can barely squat a few inches. Before you start working out regularly, you need to go through assessment and foundational sessions to get your bearing before going full steam ahead.
Imagine how much it would suck if you started working out hard, made great progress for a couple months, and then were in so much pain that you have to take time off from the gym, only to slide right back to where you were when you first started. You don’t want that and neither do we. We want you to live the life you’ve dreamed of and allow your fitness to support that. This is why we start with assessments.
We first look at your body piece by piece to see if there is anything that could get injured down the road or limit you from overuse. Once we see that, we will work on any weaknesses before moving into bigger movements. Example: we will check your hips, knees, and ankles and make sure they are cleared before we have you start squatting. This is where the magic begins, when we identify future roadblocks, we can address them early on, so they never become roadblocks.
After addressing the roadblocks, we will begin dialing in your technique on the various lifts we will do. This happens in a slow, controlled environment, where you learn to move your body properly for the rest of your life. After we dial in your movement, you can begin adding in the fancy intensity that will accelerate your progress.
