COVID-19 has changed the way all of us do things. We are being more aware of washing hands, using hand sanitizers, giving people their space, etc. It has also made people and businesses realize that they don’t need to be in the office all day to get work done. A lot of it can be done remotely from the comfort of your own home. This means more time with family and less time commuting. With this new landscape, there has been an increase in coaches and gyms offering training and coaching for clients who are staying home. So how does online coaching work?
I can only speak for what we do at 286 Performance. We offer online coaching to anyone who would prefer to work out from home or for those who would like some extra workouts to help drive their progress. Here is how we do it:
We start with an intro. Through a phone call we will talk with you about what you want to achieve and accomplish in life. From this conversation, we recommend and set up a game plan for you to reach those achievements. During the intro, we will take note of potential limiting factors, access to gym equipment, lifestyle, etc.
Using all of that information, we will pair you up with one of our coaches. This coach will the guide on your journey. They will be there for you no matter what. Each day they will send you your workout, answer any questions you may have, and provide vital feedback on your results. They will use these results to guide future workouts, make nutrition recommendations, etc. Your coach will also make sure to keep you accountable. If you start slacking off, they will reach out to find out what’s going on, make adjustments, and get you back on track.
No access to a gym or gym equipment? No problem. Your coach will customize your plan accordingly. You will still be able to reach all of your goals even without equipment, so no need to worry!
When to work out? Whenever you feel like it! Before work, on your lunch break, on mute during a zoom call. The beauty of online coaching is the flexibility! You will be able to work out when you want, at your own pace, and with a plan written just for you! No more getting stuck in traffic on the way to the gym or oversleeping the class you wanted to go to! Your workout on your terms!
By setting up a plan with a coach, you will be able to do the workouts you need, when you want to do them.
