This is a phrase we hear often during our intros or when we reach out to folks who have inquired about our gym but not signed up yet. People think that they must meet a prerequisite level of fitness before taking a CrossFit class or joining CrossFit gym. It hurts my soul every time someone says this and then chooses to go to Gold’s Gym or LA Fitness to “get fit enough, and then I’ll be back.” The reality is, not one of these people has ever come back because they never “get fit enough.” They go to that gym, maybe get a personal trainer, but spend their time spinning their wheels, not progressing their fitness, and never reaching their goals. We will help you reach your goals, no matter your current fitness level, and here is how.
CrossFit is awesome, the entire approach focuses on a healthy, sustainable lifestyle that is efficient and fun. That you need to “be fit enough” to do CrossFit is a misconception. There is no prerequisite to do CrossFit.
When people come into our gym and are brand new to CrossFit and/or have not worked out in years (or ever), we start them slow and build a baseline. We improve flexibility, strength, stamina, endurance, and many other areas as we get you prepared and ready to do the workouts with their full intensity. We know what the demands of the workout are, and we know what your goals are, so we give you the right progressions to get there. So why would you want to “go get fit enough” elsewhere, when we know exactly “how fit” you’ll need to be to reach your goals? We will guide you there, here is the process:
– Sit down for an intro, discuss past history, current goals, and determine the right plan for you
– Begin working with a coach on that plan
– Check Ins frequently with you coach to assess progress and make modifications
– Continue on your plan
– Reach your goals
