Patience is a Virtue

Have you ever heard the phrase “Patience is a virtue.”, or something along those lines? At CrossFit 286, patience is a core value of ours. We have people from all different backgrounds and fitness levels that workout in the same classes. Here is how we manage to do that.

We are always patient with our clients. A lot of the movements we do are unfamiliar and take a little bit to learn. We recognize that and are patient as people learn these movements with us.

 

“But won’t I hold the class up?” That is a question we get asked a lot. The answer, no. Our coaches approach each class as if everyone is a beginner. Even if someone has gone done the movement for years, our coaches will still breakdown the movement. Everyone can get better. If you aren’t picking up on the movement right away, that’s ok! Our coaches will give you things to work on that will allow you to improve the movement! And the best part, they’ll do all of this by talking to you 1 on 1 as opposed to calling you out in front of the group.

 

Damien and Carla are a husband and wife that come into our evening classes three times per week. They both started in our Foundations Program and had never done CrossFit before. During their Foundations, We taught them the common movements we do in class, as well as modifications to do for the ones they struggled with. Fast forward to now, and they are still working on many of the movements but are able to do so in our classes!
