In anything you want to achieve, you need to have a defined path to get thee. You can’t just do a bunch of random stuff and hope you find your way to your goal. You won’t get there. Instead, you need a plan laid out that meshes with how you want to live your life. That will get you to your goals, plain and simple. Laying out the plan will take some time but will be well worth it. Defining goals, milestones, timelines, etc, will be of much benefit to you. Here is how we do that at 286 Performance to help our clients reach their goals:
We start by sitting down and talking with them before they join. During this process, we begin defining goals and motivating factors. These determine why they should even spend their time on his pursuit. From there, we set up a plan that includes exercise and nutrition (how many days to workout, how much to eat, personal training vs classes, all that fun stuff).
After setting up the initial structure to the plan, we go through assessments and set baselines for current fitness level and body composition. Using these metrics, we begin to round out the protocol in specifics. What movements will you do, what movements will you not do, that kind of thing.
From there, the journey begins at your own pace. We are big believers in learning to walk before you run, so we make sure to build the base of the pyramid, both in exercise and nutrition, before moving to more advanced things. The movements you see the advanced people doing are not the movements you will do. We follow a system that tells us what. You are capable of today and what we can do today to move you closer to your goal. Going upside down on a wall may help you get to your goals, but if you can’t do a push up, you’re not going upside down.
Our approach starts slow and meets you where you’re at. We only move to harder things when you’re ready. If you are ready to set up your plan, schedule an intro through this link and we will help you out.
