Something you will hear every boutique gym-goer say is, “I love the community!” We hear it all the time, and to be honest, it’s true. There is no community like the fitness community. I mean, take the CrossFit community for example, how many gyms can you name that participate in worldwide competitions and fundraisers together? Not many probably. Gold’s gym certainly doesn’t. But what does community mean? As true as it is, it can be hard to quantify. Here is our take on it:
Community is defined as a group of people who share something in common. On our gym, and in many others, that definition is true. We have people all coming together to work on their goals and improve their health, but the community does not stop there. The community supports one another, celebrates one another, is compassionate towards one another, and is accepting of one another. Everyone comes from a different background and circumstance. Everyone has different fears. Everyone has different goals. Everyone accepts who you are and where you’ve come from, and no matter where you want to go, they will cheer you on. Sounds crazy right? A group so accepting and full of love sounds too good to be true, right? It’s not.
When we sit down and talk to our members individually, something always comes up. “I didn’t realize how important having a support system like this was.” “I was afraid to start because I was so out of shape and thought everyone would laugh at me, but they didn’t. They cheered for me!” “My favorite part of this gym is the people.”
Community can be hard to quantify. Each community is different than the next but has core values and beliefs in common. In our gym, it’s all about accepting others, being kind to others, and helping them reach their goal, no matter what it is or how impossible it may seem. It’s something to experience. If you haven’t experienced it yet, go ahead and book an intro, and you can experience it for yourself! You can book that here:
